Prior to version 4.10.3, Parse Server crashes when if a query request contains an invalid value for the `explain` option. This is due to a bug in the MongoDB Node.js driver which throws an exception that Parse Server cannot catch. There is a patch for this issue in version 4.10.3. No workarounds aside from upgrading are known to exist.","provenance":"source","from":"CVE.org"},"cvss":{"score":7.5,"severity":"HIGH","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","provenance":"source","from":"CVE.org CNA"},"epss":{"score":0.01819,"percentile":0.78739,"provenance":"source"},"cwes":[{"id":"CWE-74","name":"Improper Neutralization of Special Elements in Output Used by a Downstream Component"}],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/security/advisories/GHSA-xqp8-w826-hh6x","tags":["x_refsource_CONFIRM"]},{"url":"https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/commit/308668c89474223e2448be92d6823b52c1c313ec","tags":["x_refsource_MISC"]},{"url":"https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/releases/tag/4.10.3","tags":["x_refsource_MISC"]},{"url":"https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/NODE-3463","tags":["x_refsource_MISC"]}],"priority":{"score":21.0,"factors":[{"name":"EPSS percentile","points":15.75},{"name":"CVSS severity","points":5.25}]},"vendorSlug":"parse-community","affectedVersions":[{"vendor":"parse-community","product":"parse-server","versions":["< 4.10.3"]}],"affected":[{"ecosystem":"npm","package":"parse-server","vulnerableRanges":["<4.10.3"],"patched":["4.10.3"],"from":["GHSA-xqp8-w826-hh6x"],"provenance":"source"}],"euvd":{"id":"EUVD-2021-2135","exploited":false,"provenance":"source"},"lineage":{"packageHistory":[{"cve":"CVE-2020-15270","published":"2020-10-22","fixed":"4.4.0","kev":false},{"cve":"CVE-2020-26288","published":"2020-12-30","fixed":"4.5.0","kev":false},{"cve":"CVE-2021-39138","published":"2021-08-18","fixed":"4.5.2","kev":false,"link":{"from":"CVE-2021-39138","to":"CVE-2021-39187","relation":"successor","confidence":"low","kind":"sequence","evidence":[{"kind":"version-step","provenance":"source","package":"npm:parse-server","fromFixed":"4.5.2","toFixed":"4.10.3","daysApart":15}]}},{"cve":"CVE-2021-39187","published":"2021-09-02","fixed":"4.10.3","kev":false},{"cve":"CVE-2021-41109","published":"2021-09-30","fixed":"4.10.4","kev":false,"link":{"from":"CVE-2021-39187","to":"CVE-2021-41109","relation":"successor","confidence":"low","kind":"sequence","evidence":[{"kind":"version-step","provenance":"source","package":"npm:parse-server","fromFixed":"4.10.3","toFixed":"4.10.4","daysApart":28}]}},{"cve":"CVE-2022-24760","published":"2022-03-11","fixed":"4.10.7","kev":false},{"cve":"CVE-2022-24901","published":"2022-05-04","fixed":"5.2.1","kev":false}],"package":"npm:parse-server"}}
