{"id":"CVE-2025-68154","published":"2025-12-16T18:18:03Z","modified":"2025-12-17T18:50:42Z","title":"Command Injection in fsSize() on Windows","vendor":"sebhildebrandt","product":"systeminformation","tier":"tail","description":{"text":"systeminformation is a System and OS information library for node.js. In versions prior to 5.27.14, the `fsSize()` function in systeminformation is vulnerable to OS command injection on Windows systems. The optional `drive` parameter is directly concatenated into a PowerShell command without sanitization, allowing arbitrary command execution when user-controlled input reaches this function. The actual exploitability depends on how applications use this function. If an application does not pass user-controlled input to `fsSize()`, it is not vulnerable. Version 5.27.14 contains a patch.","provenance":"source","from":"CVE.org"},"cvss":{"score":8.1,"severity":"HIGH","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","provenance":"source","from":"CVE.org CNA"},"epss":{"score":0.12989,"percentile":0.96329,"provenance":"source"},"cwes":[{"id":"CWE-78","name":"Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command"}],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/sebhildebrandt/systeminformation/security/advisories/GHSA-wphj-fx3q-84ch","tags":["x_refsource_CONFIRM"]},{"url":"https://github.com/sebhildebrandt/systeminformation/commit/c52f9fd07fef42d2d8e8c66f75b42178da701c68","tags":["x_refsource_MISC"]}],"priority":{"score":24.9,"factors":[{"name":"EPSS percentile","points":19.27},{"name":"CVSS severity","points":5.67}]},"vendorSlug":"sebhildebrandt","affectedVersions":[{"vendor":"sebhildebrandt","product":"systeminformation","versions":["< 5.27.14"]}],"affected":[{"ecosystem":"npm","package":"systeminformation","vulnerableRanges":["<5.27.14"],"patched":["5.27.14"],"from":["GHSA-wphj-fx3q-84ch"],"provenance":"source"}],"euvd":{"id":"EUVD-2025-203835","exploited":false,"provenance":"source"},"lineage":{"packageHistory":[{"cve":"CVE-2021-21388","published":"2021-04-29","fixed":"5.6.4","kev":false},{"cve":"CVE-2023-42810","published":"2023-09-21","fixed":"5.21.7","kev":false},{"cve":"CVE-2024-56334","published":"2024-12-20","fixed":"5.23.7","kev":false,"link":{"from":"CVE-2024-56334","to":"CVE-2025-68154","relation":"successor","confidence":"low","kind":"sequence","evidence":[{"kind":"version-step","provenance":"source","package":"npm:systeminformation","fromFixed":"5.23.7","toFixed":"5.27.14","daysApart":361}]}},{"cve":"CVE-2025-68154","published":"2025-12-16","fixed":"5.27.14","kev":false},{"cve":"CVE-2026-26280","published":"2026-02-19","fixed":"5.30.8","kev":false,"link":{"from":"CVE-2025-68154","to":"CVE-2026-26280","relation":"successor","confidence":"low","kind":"sequence","evidence":[{"kind":"version-step","provenance":"source","package":"npm:systeminformation","fromFixed":"5.27.14","toFixed":"5.30.8","daysApart":65}]}},{"cve":"CVE-2026-26318","published":"2026-02-19","fixed":"5.31.0","kev":false},{"cve":"CVE-2026-44724","published":"2026-05-27","fixed":"5.31.6","kev":false}],"package":"npm:systeminformation"}}
