The flaw is an information disclosure vulnerability in Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 through 11, within the browser itself. An attacker who can get a user to load crafted JavaScript can determine whether particular files exist on the victim's system, and this requires only remote access and user interaction, with no authentication needed.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 through 11 allows remote attackers to determine the existence of files via crafted JavaScript code, aka "Internet Explorer Information Disclosure Vulnerability."
