Google Chromium V8 Out-of-Bounds Write Vulnerability

Google · Chromium V8

Summary

The flaw is an out-of-bounds write in the V8 JavaScript engine of Google Chromium, triggered during array deserialization when user-supplied JavaScript is executed. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit it by getting a victim to load a crafted HTML page, which allows arbitrary code execution inside the browser sandbox, and this requires user interaction (the victim visiting the page) and no special network position or configuration.

Official description · NVD

Execution of user supplied Javascript during array deserialization leading to an out of bounds write in V8 in Google Chrome prior to 71.0.3578.80 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside a sandbox via a crafted HTML page.
