SAP Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Path Traversal Vulnerability

SAP · Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

Summary

The path traversal flaw lies in SAP Customer Relationship Management (CRM), where insufficient validation of user-supplied path information lets sequences meaning "traverse to parent directory" reach the file APIs unchanged. An attacker with network access who already holds high-privilege credentials can exploit it without user interaction, and the attack can affect resources beyond the vulnerable component's own scope.

Official description · NVD

SAP CRM, 7.01, 7.02,7.30, 7.31, 7.33, 7.54, allows an attacker to exploit insufficient validation of path information provided by users, thus characters representing "traverse to parent directory" are passed through to the file APIs.
