Intel Corporation · Multiple
The flaw affects systems using Intel microprocessors that perform speculative execution, specifically speculative reads of memory before the addresses of all prior memory writes are known, a behaviour known as Speculative Store Bypass (Variant 4). An attacker with local user access and no user interaction can use a side-channel analysis to disclose information they should not be able to read.
Systems with microprocessors utilizing speculative execution and speculative execution of memory reads before the addresses of all prior memory writes are known may allow unauthorized disclosure of information to an attacker with local user access via a side-channel analysis, aka Speculative Store Bypass (SSB), Variant 4.
