rConfig OS Command Injection Vulnerability

rConfig · rConfig

Summary

The rConfig network configuration management product contains an OS command injection flaw in lib/ajaxHandlers/ajaxAddTemplate.php, where the fileName POST parameter is not sanitised of shell metacharacters. An remote attacker with low privileges and no user interaction can exploit this by submitting crafted input to the fileName parameter to execute arbitrary operating system commands on the server, affecting rConfig versions through 3.94.

Official description · NVD

lib/ajaxHandlers/ajaxAddTemplate.php in rConfig through 3.94 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands via shell metacharacters in the fileName POST parameter.
