vBulletin PHP Module Remote Code Execution Vulnerability
vBulletin · vBulletin
The vBulletin product (versions 5.5.4 through 5.6.2) contains a flaw in its PHP widget rendering component, where crafted subWidgets data sent to the ajax/render/widget_tabbedcontainer_tab_panel endpoint is not properly neutralized before being passed downstream. An attacker with network access can remotely execute commands on the server by sending a specially crafted request, requiring no authentication, no user interaction, and no special configuration.
vBulletin 5.5.4 through 5.6.2 allows remote command execution via crafted subWidgets data in an ajax/render/widget_tabbedcontainer_tab_panel request. NOTE: this issue exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2019-16759.

Why these are linked: Link confidenceHow strong the evidence is that two CVEs are related. High: stated in the CVE text or linked in an advisory, or the same code was patched one release apart. Medium: the same code, or a version step plus a similar description. Low: similar description only.
