Samsung Mobile Devices Improper Input Validation Vulnerability
Samsung · Mobile Devices
Samsung mobile devices contain an improper input validation flaw in the modem interface driver, which is a format string bug affecting builds prior to the SMR Oct-2021 Release 1. An attacker who has already obtained radio permission can trigger it locally to cause a kernel panic, with no user interaction required.
Assuming radio permission is gained, missing input validation in modem interface driver prior to SMR Oct-2021 Release 1 results in format string bug leading to kernel panic.
