Dante Discovery Process Control Vulnerability

Audinate · Dante Discovery

Summary

The Dante Discovery product from Audinate has a DLL sideloading flaw in its mDNSResponder.exe component, where the executable does not correctly specify which folder to load a DLL from or under what conditions it should do so. An attacker who can place a malicious DLL where the executable will find it can get the legitimate executable to load that file, which requires local access and user interaction.

Official description · NVD

mDNSResponder.exe is vulnerable to DLL Sideloading attack. Executable improperly specifies how to load the DLL, from which folder and under what conditions. In these scenarios, a malicious attacker could be using the valid and legitimate executable to load malicious files.
