Arm Mali GPU Kernel Driver Use-After-Free Vulnerability

Arm · Mali Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)

Summary

The Arm Mali GPU kernel driver contains a use-after-free flaw in how it handles GPU memory operations, allowing access to memory that has already been freed. An attacker with a low-privilege local account (unprivileged user on the affected device) can exploit it without user interaction to read or modify freed memory, with the affected range spanning Bifrost r0p0 through r38p1 and r39p0, Valhall r19p0 through r38p1 and r39p0, and Midgard r4p0 through r32p0.

Official description · NVD

The Arm Mali GPU kernel driver allows unprivileged users to access freed memory because GPU memory operations are mishandled. This affects Bifrost r0p0 through r38p1, and r39p0; Valhall r19p0 through r38p1, and r39p0; and Midgard r4p0 through r32p0.
