Microsoft Windows Desktop Window Manager (DWM) Core Library Privilege Escalation Vulnerability
Microsoft · Windows
A memory-safety flaw in the Desktop Window Manager (DWM) Core Library, a component of Microsoft Windows, allows privilege escalation, with the underlying weakness classed as out-of-bounds memory buffer operations and untrusted pointer dereference. An attacker who already has local, low-privileged access to the system can exploit it without user interaction to gain elevated privileges, with the impact spanning confidentiality, integrity and availability.
