D-Link DIR-823X Command Injection Vulnerability

D-Link · DIR-823X

Summary

The D-Link DIR-823X router firmware contains a command injection flaw in the set_prohibiting handler, which is reached via the /goform/set_prohibiting endpoint and affects the product's web management interface. An attacker who holds valid credentials and can reach the device can send a crafted POST request to that endpoint to run arbitrary commands on the device, with no user interaction required.

Official description · NVD

A command injection vulnerability in D-Link DIR-823X 240126 and 240802 allows an authorized attacker to execute arbitrary commands on remote devices by sending a POST request to /goform/set_prohibiting via the corresponding function, triggering remote command execution.
