TeleMessage TM SGNL Exposure of Core Dump File to an Unauthorized Control Sphere Vulnerability

TeleMessage · TM SGNL

Summary

The TeleMessage TM SGNL service, which is built on a JSP application, exposes its heap contents in a way that behaves like a core dump, and this flaw is tied to that component. An attacker with local access and no privileges, requiring no user interaction, can read the dump and recover a password that was previously sent over HTTP, which exposes confidentiality.

Official description · NVD

The TeleMessage service through 2025-05-05 is based on a JSP application in which the heap content is roughly equivalent to a "core dump" in which a password previously sent over HTTP would be included in this dump, as exploited in the wild in May 2025.

MITRE CTID mapping of the KEV entry · how it is exploited

TeleMessage TM SNGL utilizes a JavaServer Pages framework which improperly handles content in heaps and making them functionally the same as a core dump file. Attackers with local access can use this to obtain sensitive information, including credentials.
