Summary

A stack-based buffer overflow in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved lets a flaw in how BGP route updates are processed go unchecked. An unauthenticated BGP peer can send crafted route updates when the BGP Monitoring Protocol (BMP) is enabled, causing a denial of service and potentially root-level command execution, with no user interaction required.
