Progress MarkLogic Server contains an improper privilege management flaw in its backup and restore handling, affecting 12.x releases before 12.1.0 and 11.x releases before 11.3.7. An attacker with network access and delegated database-administrator privileges could perform backup or restore operations on forests outside their authorized database scope, leading to unauthorized access to or modification of security-critical data.
